Your guide to ABROADFEST 2014

You’re a college student studying abroad. I know you don’t need a holiday or any particular grounds to party. But get ready while some knowledge is dropped upon you to give you one serious reason to rage your pretty little face off.

Two major event organizers, Des Lis Group and Prime Social Group are putting on a three-day EDM party to welcome all study abroad students. This year’s ABROADFEST in Barcelona will take place March 6-8.

Thursday, March 6 kicks off with a free daytime event at The Room. Here from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., you’ll be able to pick up your ticket packages, grab some merch, have a drink or two and have any of your burning ABROADFEST questions answered. At night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., the pace picks up a tad bit with Laidback Luke, Sander van Doorn and Showtek tearing Opium (one of Barcelona’s hottest clubs) to shreds.

Tickets for the first night of ABROADFEST can run from 25 to 60 euro. Check out your ticket package options here.

Now, a word of advice. If you’re new to the whole club scene in Barcelona. You’re gonna wanna be there until the sun rises. So, pace yourself as much as your body and mind will allow.

Friday, March 7 keeps the ball rolling with this insanity. ABROADFESTers are encouraged to attend the Carpe Diem Lounge Club from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a recovery period. This free event lets you chill out, soak up the amazing Mediterranean views and drink up the sangria to kick that gnarly hangover. That night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Teatro Principal welcomes Grammy award-winning Cedric Gervais. This historic venue on the legendary Las Ramblas will give you a night you’re probably going to forget.

Tickets for the March 7 concert at Teatro Principal are sold out. But to make room for everyone,  ABROADFEST has added an additional event on Friday night at Opium Mar featuring DJ duo GLOWINTHEDARK.

The final night, Saturday, March 8, ABROADFEST says farewell to all of this semester’s study abroad students. The final event from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at Sotavento Club, with headliner Sak Noel, is sold out. That’s how unbelievable this is going to be. For the weekend’s full schedule, tickets, artist info, etc. visit the official ABROADFEST website.

Obviously this rage-a-thon is in Barcelona. If you’re a study abroad student in Europe and have a serious case of FOMO setting in, fear not, ABROADFEST wants to welcome you too. Check out cheap flights and take advantage of the Bus2alps “Fly from anywhere” option for a guide and awesome place to stay. If bus travel is more your style, you can also hitch a ride with us from Florence to ABROADFEST.

Orientation will teach you how to convert cash, how to catch a bus, how to translate road signs but ABROADFEST will teach you how to party so hard your face will literally fall off of your body. Obviously a must.
