Staying slopeside in the Swiss Alps

For the true skier or snowboarder, there aren’t many places that feel more like heaven than the Swiss Alps. And if you’re studying in Europe, getting there is finally within easy reach.

With just a weekend to enjoy the snow, you want to make the most of your time. The best way to maximize your alpine weekend? Spend it right where the action is: slopeside.

Bus2alps has just announced a brand-new package to help you have the best trip possible. With the Interlaken – Slopeside Package, you can choose to fly to Geneva or hop on the bus from Florence, Italy for door-to-door transport. Once you arrive, you’ll be staying in a town called Grindelwald, just above Interlaken.

Gindelwald is a picture-perfect Swiss town filled with chalets, all the fondue and chocolate you could want, and, most importantly, it provides the easiest access to the slopes. From your accommodation at The Youth Hostel Grindelwald, you’ll be within easy walking distance to lifts to the best runs in the Jungfrau Region. You’ll be able to spend all day Friday and Saturday exploring one of the world’s best ski regions, and if you want to venture into Interlaken to stroll the town, it’s just a train ride away.

Ready for the weekend of your life? Check out more details on how to Meet Us There or come from Florence.

10 signs you’re a snowbunny

By Ashleigh Farrar and Hannah Hardin

For those girls who can’t hardly wait until the next time they can shred the gnar.

10. Rather than starting your morning by watching the news, you check the snow report.

You probably bypass the standard daily morning social media check routine (Facebook, Snapchat then Insta) and go straight to the weather app. Your heart sinks when the conditions aren’t in the Snow God’s favor, and your day is made when they are.

9. You would trade a pair of heels for snow boots any day.

Like, what’s the point in spending money on shoes you can’t even walk in. Your paychecks go towards nothing else but snow gear.

8. You have a really dynamic bro-cabulary.

This lingo is mostly brought on by shredding with the bros on the slopes all day. It’s not your fault that today’s run was SO. MUCH. EPIC.

7. Snow is your first choice for quenching your thirst
eat snow

Think of a snow-cone…but like 1,000,000 times better. Who needs a water bottle when you have ice cold mother nature water surrounding you during your whole run?

6. Wool socks dominate regular socks in your wardrobe
wool socks

Anything that could potentially cut your run short, is not worth it. Repeat, not worth it. So, bundle those toes up and never look back

5. You’ve easily dated 5+ ski instructors with a variety of accents.

They’re in such good shape, and they really know their way around a mountain. Was that an Irish accent? Or was it Australian? German?!?!?!? Do I even care? Nope.

4. Pale is the new tan.Bikinis were never your thing. Neither were beach days. And bronzer just makes you look like you’re an extra on “Jersey Shore.” Now if only we could figure out how to sparkle in the sun like Edward…

3. Your most frequent form of transportation is a ski lift.

Casual. The view never gets old. With ever meter you climb your excitement for the day climbs as well.

2. Off season might just be the worst thing ever

Part of your soul slowly dies during off season. There is literally nothing to do besides count down the days till it starts again. Your feelings are pretty comparable to Jack Frost…I’m meltinggg!

1. But the excitement you feel on your first real run of the season makes it all worth while.

Countdown over. Let’s ride.
