From families to artists, Parisian streets are filled with life and culture. This series of photographs taken by Nicole Gubelli capture the everyday life of travelers, natives, and those enjoying the beauty of Paris and all it has to offer.
The City of Lights: As many may know, Paris is known as the City of Lights. The way that the light reflects on the Seine River at night as the boats pass by, and the twinkle of the Eiffel Tower every hour on the hour is something out of a storybook. The lights of Paris are what help make Paris as beautiful and majestic as it is. From street lamps to the Eiffel Tower, it is all so unforgettable. Not to mention in the summer, the sun sets by 10:00/10:30 p.m. so it stays light out until very late, leaving ample time to stay out and about in the sunlight.
Everyone should at least once in their life experience Bastille Day in Paris, the Parisian equivalent to the 4th of July to Americans. It is two days of celebrating their culture and country, and ends on the 14th of July with the most spectacular fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower. Photos do not do any justice to the beauty this evening held.
The City of Love: Love surrounds you everywhere in Paris. From couples french kissing on park benches to popping open a bottle of champagne under the Eiffel Tower, love is in the air everywhere you turn. Parisians are very open with their love lives and do not hesitate to show the world the love that they have for their significant other. Romantic dinners on the Seine River or holding hands through the Parc de Luxembourg, couples are everywhere. There is even a bridge called the “Love Lock Bridge,” where lovers from all over the world write their name on a padlock, lock it onto the chain link fence, then throw the key into the Seine River below. This has been going on for decades, and the bridge is covered with locks from brim to brim. It’s to the point where lovers are now locking their locks onto other’s love locks! Leaving your heart in Paris may be one of the best places to leave it…
The City of Beauty & Art: Paris is a city that has beauty in its core. The architecture of the buildings alone is incredible, along with the endless numbers of famous museums that hold some of the most well known art pieces of all of history. There are artists everywhere in Paris, painting street art, sketching in a notepad or performing on an accordion. When walking through the streets of Paris, stop and take it all in. Beauty surrounds you everywhere and within your every move.
The CIty of Rain: At least during my three week stay in Paris, it was a very wet city. However, to piggyback off of my last comment on the city, although it was wet, it sure was still beautiful. There is just something so special about catching the Eiffel Tower’s reflection in a puddle!
